The mission of THE HYPERACUSIS COMMUNITY is to offer
information and support to people who suffer with hyperacusis.
Hyperacusis sufferers can spend several years living in isolation,
unable to work, socialize, or function with any sense of normalcy.
They often become reclusive, secluded from public environments,
and may require assistance to perform basic life-sustaining tasks
such as eating, bathing, and communicating with the outside world.
Many medical professionals may misdiagnose hyperacusis due to
their limited understanding of this condition. Unfortunately, most
hyperacusis suffers receive incorrect, often damaging treatment.
If you suffer with hyperscusis or are a family member or a friend
of someone who suffers with hyperacusis, please contact us.
We can assist you in locating medical professionals and facilities
with the knowledge and expertize to provide proper medical care.
We are also available to speak by telephone to discuss therapies
and treatments, and offer guidance and counseling to help you.
THE HYPERACUSIS COMMUNITY is a non-profit organization
dedicated to helping people restore their quality of life.
